Jeremy Olivier was born and raised in Zimbabwe, but has been living in Cape Town since 1995.  He studied at UCT’s College of Music and graduated in 1999 with a BMus Honours in Jazz Performance.  Since then he has been playing professionally as a solo artist and as a session musician / vocalist with many well-known musicians, including Shannon Mowday, Frank Paco, Amanda Tiffin and Sarah Theron throughout South Africa. He has also been performing internationally at various shows, festivals and concerts. 

A few recent events include:

  • Grahamstown Jazz Festival (2007)
  • Standard Bank Joy of Jazz (2006, 2007)
  • Cape Town International Jazz Festival (2007)
  • Cape Town Jazzathon (2006, 2007)
  • Leipzig International Jazz Festival, Germany (2007)
  • Show at the Medinat Theatre, Dubai (2008).


Jeremy & Friends consists of some of Jeremy’s great musician friends, who along with Jeremy are considered to be some of Cape Town's most popular and well known musicians. They are a great bunch of charismatic performers who all have a few things in common: superb talent, ultimate dedication and passion for great music, and of course their good friend, Jeremy Oliver!

PERFORMANCE OPTIONS :

1. Jazz/Easy Listening Band ( Suitable for Background Music):
Duo OR Trio performing for up to 3 X 45 min sets

The Jazz and Background Music option consist of either a Duo or Trio (larger if required).  The Duo line-up consists of singer & guitarist Jeremy Oliver, performing with one of CT’s best saxophonists Marc de Kock. Their repertoire is varied and versatile, covering many different genres of music.  They have a unique & stunning variety of old and new jazz, as well as popular easy listening background music.

2. Function/Cover Band (Suitable for Background Music AND Party/ Dance Music):
Quartet performing for up to 4 X 45 min sets

Jeremy and Friends offers a larger function band the client requires dance music as well as jazz & easy listening music.  This option is perfect for functions such as wedding receptions, birthday bashes as well as corporate events.  The performance comprises Jeremy on Vocals & Guitar, Marc de Kock on Saxophone, along with a bassist and a drummer

The repertoire consists of background music as above, as well as party / dance music.
