Andrè van Vuuren (Accordion) was a member of the South African Defence Force Entertainment units as a pianist, accordionist and arranger for many years. He competed with great success in the ATKV Crescendo Competition with his own compositions and has recorded under leading labels such as Sony, Select and Vonk. Many of South Africa’s top artists, including Mynie Grove, Lance James and Ken Mullen have invited Andrè to perform with them on several occasions.
During the Bloemfontein Volksblad Kunstefees 2006 he performed in the award winning production Altyd Jonker, a show based on the life of South African poet, Ingrid Jonker. In the same year he was also invited to perform at the launch of South Africa’s first ever Bollywood film. Andrè can safely say that he has performed at a minimum of 1,500 events during the past few years.
Jacek Domagala (Violin) was born in Poland where he completed his Masters Degree in Violin Performance at the internationally acclaimed Wroclaw Music Academy.
He then joined the Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra where after he was invited to play in the Leopoldium Chamber Orchestra, which toured all over Europe and some eastern countries. In 1990 he moved with his family to South Africa where he played for the South African National Symphony Orchestra. In 1993 he received an invitation to join the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra permanently and is currently playing for the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra where he shares the first violin desk.
He has performed at most major festivals and many corporate functions all over South Africa. In Cape Town he has performed at all the main venues as a member of duos, trios, bigger ensembles and as first violinist of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.
Jacek’s interaction with his audiences is one of his trademarks - besides the fact that he is a very skilled player. He is certainly one of South Africa’s most versatile violinists.
