Dave has become one of Johannesburg's most demanded saxophone players since arriving from the UK in 2006. IVAN MAZUZE
Based in Cape Town
Born and educated in Maputo, Mozambique, saxophonist Ivan Mazuze came to Cape Town in 2000, where he is currently based. Ivan has performed with top internationally acclaimed artists, including Jimmy Dludlu, Judith Sephuma, Mlungisi Gegana, Dereck Schippers; as well as top bands such as Tucan Tucan and Loading Zone. He has been featured at numerous international music festivals, including the International Jazz Festivals in Cape Town, and the Joy of Jazz Festival in Grahamstown. MORE

JOEL BENJAMIN
Based in Cape Town
38-year old saxophonist Joel Benjamun is currently a member of the SA Army band in Cape Town. Prior to this he was employed by the SA Navy band (Cape Town). Apart from performing with military bands, Joel plays on an ad hoc basis with various dance bands, big bands, pop, latin, and jazz bands. MORE

MIKE LAATZ
Based in Cape Town
Mike Laatz started playing drums at the age of 12, and saxophone at 16. Although he has had no formal music training, he taught himself to read music at a young age, and has had a long and varied music career, having played with virtually all the well-known jazz musicians in both Durban and Cape Town. SIMON BATES
Based in Cape Town
Simon Bates' impressive career as a saxophonist started at Grade 8 Royal Schools Classical for Saxophone in 1995, where he also gained musical colors in the same year. He was also saxophone leader for St. Andrews College Orchestra and Stage Band. In 1995 he was selected for the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Orchestra, where he has been involved in ever since.
