PIEter tredoux

Based in Cape Town

Pieter Tredoux, a student of the highly acclaimed opera star, Nellie du Toit, is a charming and popular baritone specializing in lighter genres. These include French cabaret like Piaf and Brel; Golden Oldies (music from the 1920’s – 1970’s) and popular numbers from musicals and films. For the most part of 2004 he sang the role of Monsieur Andre in the South African production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's world-famous musical "The Phantom of the Opera".

Pieter obtained his BA (with Music) degree from the University of Stellenbosch where he specialised in solo singing. He won numerous awards and bursaries and also performed the title role in the Puccini opera, Gianni Schicchi, under the direction of award winning Christine Crouse. He was recently awarded a special prize for his performance during the Mimi Coertze Masterclasses and Concert in Stellenbosch.

Pieter performs regularly at various functions and soirees, at venues ranging from intimate lounge settings to concert stages. His connection with the fashion industry (he runs his own company m a t e r i a l i s t i c, and has been involved with the Cape model industry as model and stylist) makes him a perfect choice if you need an entertaining performance with the image to fit!
