Avikar is a group of young musicians based in Johannesburg, their repertoire includes both the latest eastern (north and south Indian) covers and original and western music (english) up to and including South African music (kwaito and Afrikaans). The band's music is best described as Indo Fusion, a unique style which the band has grown since its inception 12 years ago.

Avikar has performed for major events and in front of audiences of up to 20000 people. They've played at top local venues such as Carnival City and Gold Reef City Casinos, and they regularly perform outside the South African borders, in countries like Malawi, Maputo, Swaziland, Botswana, Zambia and the Congo. They have also been the opening acts for the local concerts of internationally renowned Indian singers and Bollywood stars, such as the Kumar Sanu show in 1998, the Udit Narayan Show in 2000, the Abhijeet show in 2001, Sonu Nigam 2005, Shaan Kunal Gunjawala and Anu Malik 2006. The band has also performed alongside Bollywood stars like Shah Ruck Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerjee Saif Ali Khan, Zahid Khan - rated as the best of Bollywood.

Avikar has built up a large following in and around South Africa, since the launch of their CD, "Limitless", in 1998. They cater for live stage concerts, weddings and parties as well corporate events.
